Who does this? We do.
I found myself asking this out loud over and over again during my recent workshop at Périgord Retreats in the south of France:
Who does this?
Canoeing down the Dordogne River…
Painting in a vineyard so picturesque it felt like a dream…
Exploring medieval villages, sipping wine from real glasses at outdoor picnics, and laughing until our cheeks hurt…We do.
This magical retreat was filled with beautiful moments—both big and small. From building friendships and growing confidence in the studio, to being playful and creative together, it was ten days of joy, learning, and connection.
And the food. Oh, the food! Katel is an extraordinary chef, and everything that came out of her kitchen nourished our souls and delighted our taste buds. Homemade French onion soup, perfectly cooked duck, an unforgettable tapas dinner, desserts that made us swoon… très bien doesn't even begin to cover it.
There were laughs, quiet moments of reflection, fresh pastries, the warmth of shared creativity, and a farewell dinner full of fun and gratitude.
Who does this?
We do—and we’ll do it again.
If you'd like to join me for the next unforgettable adventure, I'm heading to Italy in 2026 and back to France in 2027.

One of the most beautiful parts of this retreat wasn’t just the scenery or the painting—it was the people.
This group was filled with the most creative, kind, and open-hearted souls. We laughed, shared stories, encouraged each other in our art, and made memories I’ll cherish forever. Watching friendships blossom over coffee on the porch, during quiet sketchbook moments, and over glasses of wine at dinner was a true joy.
I’m so grateful to each of these incredible artists for trusting me—not only as a teacher, but as a guide on this shared creative journey. It’s no small thing to travel across the world and dive into an experience like this, and I don’t take that lightly.
Thank you for showing up with courage, curiosity, and your whole heart. I’m honored to have spent this time with you, and I can’t wait to see where your art takes you next.
